Ryan Utsman
Soccer has been a part of Ryan’s life since early childhood and has helped shape his leadership philosophy encompassing PASSION, PURPOSE, & PEOPLE. Ryan has always been a leader on and off the soccer field.
During his youth, Ryan was the Florida ODP Team captain from 1990-1993. He played in multiple European tournaments with Team USA in 1989 including playing at the Russian Olympic Training Center in Minsk, Russia as an elite member of Team USA. Ryan participated in the Ajax Soccer Academy in Holland earning a top rated “A” grade. Ryan was All Broward County in high school from 1990-1993, participated in multiple Copa Latinas, and was a part of the South Florida Select Academy.
Ryan played Division 1 collegiate soccer at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (#1 in the Nation in 1994) for 1 year and 3 years as Captain at the University of Nevada Las Vegas from 1995 – 1997. Ryan was a scholar athlete all 4 years, earning Scholar Athlete of the Year at UNLV. Ryan was also All Conference in the WAC and Mountain West conferences. Ryan earned multiple All Tournament Teams including top tournaments at the University of Virginia, University of Rutgers, University of Washington, and others. During collegiate years, Ryan played as an amateur in the USISL pro league with the South Florida Flamingos.
Ryan played professional for the San Diego Flash in the former A League and was a reserve team player for the MLS from 1998 – 1999.
Ryan’s leadership philosophies encompassing PASSION, PURPOSE, & PEOPLE translate to coaching kids of all ages. Ryan has also helped coach the Albion San Diego Pro Soccer team before moving back to South Florida in March of 2021. Ryan is a passionate coach who believes in connecting each kid to purpose by getting the most out of them on the soccer field and making sure they have a great soccer experience.
